GapOnly is a scheme which most pet insurers have signed up to and allows your pets claim to be assessed whilst you wait(or before you come to collect your pet if admitted). In this way your insurer will pay the veterinary hospital directly, leaving you to only pay the "gap" between the total cost of the veterinary services and what you insurer will pay.
The traditional claim process had you paying the veterinary hospital for all costs incurred, with a reimbursement then made by the insurance company to you some time later.
