For after hours wildlife emergencies please contact one of the fantastic local wildlife carers.

Weekdays After Hours

We use an external veterinary triage service to manage our after hours calls. This service is staffed by fully qualified veterinary nurses who will provide first line advice on the phone and determine if your animal does indeed need prompt or emergency care before we are next open for regular business. If they determine this is needed, they will contact us immediately and this care will be provided.

If not an emergency then they will give general advice and instructions on what you should do. We will always be notified if you’ve spoken to the triage service regardless of if a visit is needed and so we will be able to follow-up with any ongoing concerns or questions when we are next open. There is no additional cost to yourself to access the service.

Weekend After Hours

On weekends we enter a shared roster with 2 other local small animal practices (Vasse Vets & Busselton Vet Hospital). What this means is that following discussion with the triage vet nurse or vet, if needed you will be directed to either Dunsborough Veterinary Hospital, Vasse Vets or Busselton Vet Hospital who will provide the emergency care.

The three practices have protocols in place to ensure all clinical records and information are returned to the normal primary care practice who can follow up on anything that is needed following such an emergency visit. On all weeknights (Monday to Friday), Dunsborough Veterinary Hospital will provide its traditional after-hours service (i.e. you will always be seen in Dunsborough), it is only from 12pm Saturday – 8.30am Monday that this shared service will operate.
